Hamburg am TurmwegIn the west of the Hamburg Außenalster is located the noble district of Rotherbaum. The local "Citizen Club vor dem Dammtor/Pöseldorf e.V." is using this nice district with its nice scenery of mamorial houses, the famous tennis court at Rothenbaum, the TV station of the North German broadcast (NDR) and the ethnological museum at the Rothebaumchaussee, twice a year (mostly in April + September) for the scene of the most popular flea market in Hamburg: "Flea market at the Turmweg ".
According to the surroundings where the market is taking place, this flea market in the Turmweg has a comparatively high level. Because of that many antique traders like to book stands.
The atmosphere is welcoming: In early or late summer the visitors are strolling from one stand to another, rummaging in antique books and cute kids cloths, curios personal chattels from the 50s and discarded old TVs from the hobby room of your neighbour. For our own good bratwurst and crêpe booths and the voluntary fire department from the St. Johannis church with his culinary food is taking care of you.
